Meet ‘The Groove Academy’ – Steve ‘Bev’ Beveridge & Robin Chubb - two old mates with a passion for music from the dance world, thrown together on the mean streets of Spalding. 30 plus years later they’re still meeting up, swapping tunes, info on artists and even going to gigs together.
“So much music, so little time!” is Robin’s mantra and he spends an unhealthy amount of that time digging for music old & new. A connoisseur of many genres, expect an eclectic collection of rare groove, Jazz/Acid Jazz, underground disco, dub and many other delights from his library of tunes.
Steve (aka Bev) also has a large passion for music from the dance world. A passion for house music, old school hip hop, funk & soul and a good sprinkling of disco makes up his library. But, same as Rob, also has a desire to find things from the weird & wonderful category.
The Groove Academy aims to take you on a musical journey every Thursday between 7pm-9pm, joining the dots between Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazz, House, Dub, Hip Hop and stopping off on all manner of weird & wonderful tunes in between to get you grooving.
